UK/Ireland Location: Leicestershire. Posted August 14, 2014. My diesel Mondeo has just clocked up 140,000 trouble free miles. Yesterday though, on a 300 mile journey, I noticed a problem I'd describe as surging. On very light throttle, the power seems to come & go slightly. Sometimes it's bad enough for the rev counter to show a drop in revs too. The sensor is located in the head between the 2nd and 3rd sparkplug. If you need to replace the sensor you may find that the new sensor doesn't look like the old one. The brass section on the factory installed sensor is about 1.5" long and the new one is half that length. Ford updated the design at some point. Ford Focus and Mondeo 1.8 2.0 TDCi 2000 - 2003Problem: Engine hard to start, lack of power, rough idling etc. Solution: A common problem has been identified with the above models and an insufficient signal from the camshaft postion sensor (CPS). The fault code P0340 may have been triggered which relates to the CPS. My 2016 Mondeo Titanium X 2.0TDCi 150BHP has a “Turbo Under Boost” problem. My car Mondeo MK5 2.0 TDCi (132 kW) has random problems with losing power, right after changing gear (such a random turbo hole). Sometimes the problem does not occur, car drives very well, other times, after pressing the gas, it catches resistance for a moment, and after short moment it is fine. Driving normally on a standard day - Engine Malfunction came up on the dash. I have a code reader which showed (P0069 - Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Correlation). I cleared the code, took it for a drive and same thing occurred. 1)Manifold Pressure Sensor or associated wiring. AFAIR Ford 1.6 TDCI engine enters emergency mode when all 4 glow plugs are burnt. So they might have the same resistance because they are all faulty. If they were not replaced previously, you should probably try to change them anyway. But beware that they are quite brittle and after many years they tend to stuck. The 2.0 TDCi diesel is a favourite powerplant of Ford and does its job well when fitted to the Kuga. Mated to a six speed manual gearbox, the engine pulls confidently, and a little noisily, when accelerating thanks to a decent amount of torque available at low revs. It's a competent and capable cruiser on the motorway but drivers may have to Posted November 11, 2015. Hi guys. I hope someone can help. I have a 2.0 Tdci 136bhp. My car makes a woooohh sound when I change gear. Most noticeable when changing from 1st to 2nd gear and 2nd to 3rd gear. It only does it as the revs drop. No noise when accelerating. When I'm idling and I Rev the car the noise is present but only as the revs drop. There is a sensor right where the gearbox joins the engine but doesn't look like the one in this video. Also another sensor underneath the airbox near the gearbox fluid dip stick. Can't seem to find much information about the automatics. Sent from my MYA-L11 using Tapatalk.
