500m stop spacing is very large for buses and middling for metro. You generally want stops closer together in denser areas and further apart in less dense areas, and more frequent stops for buses and trams than for trains. For buses, I'd aim for 200-300m. For metro, I'd aim for 300m-1km. Most of your lines, especially rail, should be radial lines.
Feb. 11, 2022 •. Jake Blumgart. America's massive highway system provides a low-cost foundation for scaling up intercity bus service, which makes this form of transit more green than trains, say
The first phase of the Second Avenue Subway was most expensive rail construction project in the world. The costs were staggering: at $1.7 billion per kilometer, it was at least five to six times
I also have a mixture of rail, subway and buses. The buses pick up and drop off at the rail and subway stations and are for neighborhood traffic. The subway moves people from one neighborhood to another. The train is used to move people from one side of town to another with fewest stops possible. I get high occupancy rates on all lines.

A Jetsons-esque elevated bullet train zipping above traffic tickles peoples' sense of wonder in a way that dingy subways often don't, WMATA's famous vaults perhaps notwithstanding. For the non-transit-nerds among us, that can be enough.

The Moscow Metro is a delightful paradox; how is one of the largest metro systems in the world also one of the most efficient? Moskovsky Metropoliten opened in 1935, offering one train line and 13
During weekdays, Metro starts running at 5 am. This means that the first trains start at both ends of a given line at 5 am, so it you’re willing to take the first train and you’re in the middle of a line, you will have to wait around 20/30 minutes before it gets to you. Similarly, during weekdays, Metro stops at midnight, meaning that the
So, no, the DLR is not a tram. Nor is it a subway. It’s an urban light railway, which isn’t really either. On the upside, it is largely automated.
